As Special Counsel in our Investments business, my focus is on developing and managing opportunities for our clients through our syndicated property and contributory mortgage investments offerings.

I bring more than 20 years of legal and commercial experience to my role. I have held executive positions in well-known NZ businesses, including with one of New Zealand’s largest listed property companies where I was involved in acquisitions and divestments, development and construction, and leasing and portfolio management. Working in large national and multi-national law firms in New Zealand, London and Hong Kong, I have managed large and complex corporate transactions across a range of industries and jurisdictions.

My mix of commercial and legal roles has enabled me to develop broad experience and expertise across legal, transactional and operational disciplines. I enjoy problem solving for clients and my broad-ranging background helps me to think laterally. I’m adept at seeing commercial drivers, as well as legal complexities, which goes a long way to facilitating win-win solutions for all involved.

Developing and maintaining relationships across multiple stakeholder groups is also something on which I am particularly focussed, and take pride in. It’s my belief that business dealings are most successful when they’re underpinned by strong relationships, built on trust.
