Stephanie Harris

Joint Managing Partner | Land Development and Property

LLB

With three decades of experience, I specialise in commercial property law, offering strategic advice and handling complex transactions for investors, developers, and high-profile businesses. My expertise encompasses all facets of property law, negotiations, dispute resolution, and structuring sophisticated lease and development agreements. I also attend to my clients’ day-to-day business requirements in particular, as those requirements relate to terms and conditions of supply, security interests, general structuring, and finance.

Committed to excellence, I ensure optimal outcomes for clients through precise legal solutions and a deep understanding of their business needs.

 My experience includes:
- Advising a government entity on developing an innovative urban community, contributing to master planning and joint venture agreements.
- Handling acquisitions, dispositions, and due diligence for various properties, maintaining a key relationship with a leading property trust.
- Managing complex lease agreements and redevelopments for significant commercial properties, including Christchurch post-earthquake lease reviews.
- Overseeing title encumbrances and consents, coordinating development aspects for a major shopping centre's unit and leasehold titles, including liaising with iwi interests.
- Managing lending, security, and enforcement for United Kingdom and New Zealand banks, focusing on securing client developments.
- Representing an international beauty brand in New Zealand for supply, distribution, and legal business management.
- Consulting for a leading New Zealand food producer on management shareholding structures.
- Serving as trustee for the Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust, funding awards for women's education and retraining.

I pride myself on fostering long term client relationships and being accessible to my clients every day in a way that allows me to really grasp a client’s business needs and aspirations rather than just meeting their legal requirements; so as to provide effective, economic, and timely advice.
